Senator and Republican presidential hopeful Marco Rubio was in the middle of giving a speech when news broke that John Boehner was resigning as Speaker of the House and from Congress. The conservative audience at the Values Voters Summit didn't hide their feelings at all.
Rubio was speaking about the need for change in leadership in Washington when he said, "And we’ll see how things progress. Just a few minutes ago, Speaker Boehner announced that he will be resigning." With that the crowd rose to its feet with enthusiastic applause.

Rubio didn't dwell on Boehner's announcement, simply saying, "The time has come to change the page."
