Brian Lilley of TheRebel.Media reports that a new Bond movie is about to come out and in Britain there is a debate over the future of the longest-running, most successful spy franchise in movie history: Should Bond be a woman? Should he be gay?



Brian's position puts him in some odd company - not only former Bond Sir Roger Moore, but also Piers Morgan who actually had a momentary bout of sanity when he wrote a column saying James Bond shouldn’t turn into Janet Bond.



Bond is a character, a well-defined character. Making these kinds of changes will turn off longtime fans. That has nothing to do with any kind of bigotry; it's simply that when you go see Bond, you expect certain things.



The movie franchise is already suffering the weight of the PC mentality, making it harder to define who the villain is for fear of offending people.



Morgan ends his piece by saying,“For God’s sake, let Bond be Bond and let the PC police be damned.”
