CNN Airs ‘Live’ Interview With Congresswoman That Was Pre-Recorded

This is CNN. Or at least, this was CNN earlier in the day.

In an era of "fake news," this seems like an unnecessary error. Heat Street reports:

A video has been making the rounds on the web where a guy is watching TV and sees the same congresswoman on both MSNBC’s Hardball and CNN’s OutFront at the same time. Both networks claim to be live at the time (7:07pm EST on Wednesday), with a “live” tag clearly shown at the bottom right of the screen.

Either Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.)  has a super power of being able to duplicate herself -- and, really, I hope she wouldn't waste such a skill to simply appear more on TV -- or one of the networks was fibbing. Here's the video of the two simultaneous "live" appearances:

So which network was wrong? Internet sleuths found these two tweets from the Congresswoman's own account, which provided clues:

and this one:

In other words, the congresswoman's Twitter account showed exactly where she was -- and when. The time stamps of her tweets revealed which network got it wrong. Heat Street concluded, based on the Twitter time stamps:

"Well, turns out CNN is lying."

Everyone act shocked.
