On Hardball, Media Matters founder David Brock was given a long segment, with Chris Matthews' praise included, to tout Hillary Clinton 2016 and his PAC. In a segment dubbed "Blinded By The Right," Matthews marveled at Brock's former position with a conservative magazine and asked about his political transition. Brock spent the entire segment discussing his book about Hillary Clinton and how he discovered she's a "good person" and cares about people.
Matthews prompted Brock to highlight Brock's PAC that has targeted Republicans such as governors Chris Christie (R-NJ) and Scott Walker (R-WI.) At one point Matthews verbalized his support for Brock and what he is doing for the Clintons, wondering if past Democratic candidates could have "used" Brock's skills,
I agree with you! Now let me ask you... or whether, uh, the swiftboating of John Kerry which I thought was awful! This very tough, beyond war room... approach you take... tell us about that!
Brock later bragged about his aggressive approach in defending the Clinton family, targeting Republicans who posed a threat to the Clintons' agenda. Brock admitted his group is focused on defending "potential" Democratic candidates in 2016, but focuses primarily on Hillary Clinton. Brock was given more than eight minutes of time to praise Hillary Clinton. Matthews ended the segment wishing David Brock "good luck with your efforts!"
