A truly strange moment on MSNBC between Chris Matthews and Donald Trump seems to have gone largely unnoticed, despite the made-for-the internet clip seen above.

I saw the book you put out, "Crippled America," and I read it through, it was all very phallic, by the way, all these big buildings you put up. Everyone's tall, they all look great. I said why doesn’t this guy run a TV campaign like that in Iowa that talks about what he's built? Say you, the builder, against this guy, the debater. You want a debater or a builder. You want a 6’3″ builder or a 5’8″ debater? I would play tougher than you.

So Chris is suggesting that big, tall, phallic Trump should put out an ad belittling the smaller, less satisfying master debater Ted Cruz? Yeah, that's totally normal political advice, Chris. Nobody is weirded out and this is not awkward at all.

Maybe Ted Cruz and Donald Trump should both invest in a little bit more security. If one more thrill finds its way any farther up Chris Matthews' leg, there could be trouble.
