Since the election recount was a bust for the left, and blaming Russia for installing Donald Trump as a Putin-puppet President isn't working either, the left has turned its desperate sights on the members of the electoral college in a Hail Mary attempt to sway enough of them to change their vote on December 19.

Toward that end, a movement called Unite for America has produced a PSA video in which D-list and/or former celebrities plead with the electors to help "change the course of history." "We are a multi-partisan movement of concerned citizens and volunteers," their website reads, "united against the unprecedented threat of an unqualified candidate taking our nation's highest office."

Funny, they didn't seem concerned about a candidate's qualifications when Barack Obama was elected. Perhaps that's because in that instance they approved of his agenda. What they don't approve of is a candidate who might undo the damage Obama wreaked on this country.

Led by activist/actor Martin Sheen, who wasn't the President but played him on TV, "celebs" such as Debra Messing, James Cromwell, BD Wong, Noah Wyle, Moby, Mike Farrell, and Loretta Swit urge electors to "vote their conscience." Check out the short PSA above, and prepare to be underwhelmed by their actorly sincerity.

If enough electors do change their vote, the election would then go to the House of Representatives for a decision, and since the House is GOP-controlled, Trump would still end up in the White House. But that will enable the left to claim that Trump won neither the popular nor the electoral vote, and thus his victory is illegitimate. That would give the left justification for all kinds of mayhem to derail a Trump presidency.

And that's the left's goal -- not to support the President-elect but to subvert him at every step, if not actually overthrow him. Remember when George W. Bush was in office and Hillary Clinton claimed that dissent was the highest form of patriotism? Then Obama took office and the left claimed that dissent was racist and treasonous and unconstitutional and obstructionist? Now that a Republican is headed for the White House, dissent is patriotic again!
