Carson Drops to Third Place Tie: Poll

Tied with Cruz, well behind Trump

Dr. Ben Carson is riding high no longer. Carson, who was tied with or leading Donald Trump in several polls of Republican voters a month ago, is now dropping fast, according to the latest numbers from Quinnipiac University:

Eleven months before the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump is the undisputed leader in the Republican field, as Dr. Ben Carson, in a virtual tie with Trump four weeks ago, drops to third place, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released today.

In a Quinnipiac poll released at the end of October, Carson took 23% support to Trump's 24% support. Today Carson is at 16% support behind Marco Rubio at 17% and Trump at 27%. Carson is generating the same amount of support as Texas Senator Ted Cruz. All other contenders are in single digits in this latest poll.

Carson has also dropped back in polls conducted by Fox News, ABC, and Bloomberg.

Among Democrats, Quinnipiac put Clinton in the lead with 60% support compared to just 30% support for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
