After the President's speech today, the media reactions were mainly predictable and mainly 100% supportive of him, per usual. One of the most hilarious reactions, though, was from MSNBC's (formerly NBC's) Brian Williams.
"The President just threw down over gun control and gun rights in this country before an audience in the East Room of advocates on the subject."
Threw down? Come on. This speech, and the executive action they outlined, are not the stuff of legend. Although it did represent a signal to the left that Democrat Presidents will act on gun control with or without Congress, the people, or the Constitution. But "threw down" is a grand overstatement.
Not that Williams' was the only one. If you can stomach it, here is an article from the Daily Beast that really takes it to eleven. The headline is "Obama’s Gun Speech Was One For The Ages" and the subhead is "Why the president’s teary-eyed announcement of a new gun regulation package will be remembered for a long time to come." However, we'll forgive you if you shorten it to LOL.
Rest assured, these will not be the only, or even the worst, examples of the compliant media cheerleading Obama on this.
