On a recent episode of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, the host took a moment to deliver an impassioned appeal to young voters to ignore Hillary Clinton's lies and vote against her opponent, Donald Hitler.
Maher conceded that during past elections he and the rest of the left "cried wolf" too many times about Republican candidates like Mitt Romney and George W. Bush, painting them as Satan incarnate when they were actually "honorable men." But this time -- this time -- we really are facing a fascist in Donald Trump, warns Maher.
In the short video above, Maher looks directly into the camera and says,
"To the young people: like they say in the action movies, 'The shit just got real.'
I know you're young and idealistic, and I've heard these young people on the news saying things like: 'Well, Donald Trump, I don't like him but Hillary, I can't vote for a liar.' I mean, first of all, it's just apples and oranges... an orange -- but kids, I've been doing this for 23 years on T.V. I've seen a lot, I know politics. This is different. I promise you this will not make your life better. And also, once fascists get power they don't give it up. You've got President Trump for life.
Nonsense. It's the radical left that is fascistic and determined to seize power for life. Obama would still be in office but for the fact that he and his cronies know that if they ignore the 23rd Amendment it will be at their peril.
I know liberals made a big mistake because we attacked your [Frum's] boy Bush like he was the end of the world, and he wasn't. And Mitt Romney we attacked that way. I gave Obama a million dollars because we were so afraid of Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney wouldn't have changed my life that much, or yours. Or John McCain. They were honorable men who we disagreed with and we should've kept it that way. So we cried wolf, and that was wrong. But this is real. This is going to be way different."
Yes, it was wrong, but the radical left did it because they are fascistic, power-obsessed bullies. And it's still wrong, so Maher's mea culpa is meaningless.
