Amid growing speculation about his motives for visiting New Hampshire, host of the first presidential primary, Vice President Biden insisted repeatedly Tuesday that he was only there to promote job programs, stating “I’m here about jobs, not mine.”

Clearly Biden heard enough of the speculation to feel it warranted repeated response, not only answering reporters’ questions, but stating to NH Gov. Maggie Hassan (D) and a Nashua jobs training center,

The reason we're here, notwithstanding what others may think, is because you run the best outfit in the country. No really, I mean it... We’re here because we’re trying to replicate what you’re doing so well.

At another stop at a local business, Biden made said in response to reporters' questions that while he was there about jobs, his own was not one of them, saying, “I’m here about jobs, not mine.”

Despite Biden’s denials and recent statements that he has not made up his mind about 2016, many have noted Biden’s high profile choice of a (jobs) campaign stop. And some of the Vice President’s statements Tuesday certainly sounded like a 2016 warm-up run:

I’m more optimistic about America’s future today relative to the world than I ever have been in my life. And the key is having the best educated population in the world.
