A revolt might be brewing within the Democrat Party and the key targets are presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
In the wake of the party's dubious tallying methods in Iowa (which included counting votes for Clinton that were actually cast for Bernie Sanders) that named Clinton victor of the state's caucus, Wasserman Schultz was heckled relentlessly on Friday evening at a party dinner in Manchester, New Hampshire.
C-SPAN cameras were able to capture the incident in which the chairwoman was alternately greeted with silence, boos, and screamed phrases like, "You suck!"
"We’re going to stand up and fight!" Wasserman Schultz announced during her remarks at the event. "We’re going to make sure that every single American understands the choice that we have in this election leading up to November."
To which Sanders supporters donning sweatshirts remained deafeningly silent. At one moment, the camera turned to capture a man shouting, "You suck!" to the DNC chairwoman.
Wasserman Schultz continued with her speech pretending not to have heard the heckler.
It was not, however, the first incident in which the DNC chairwoman was met with resounding disapproval. Huffington Post's Amanda Terkel tweeted that the audience booed strongly at the mere mention of Wasserman Schultz's name at the New Hampshire dinner.
The aftermath of the Iowa caucus is a prime example of what happens when liberals eat their own. We're fairly sure that the Democrat establishment (including Clinton herself) wasn't banking on just how vocal Sanders' supporters would be nor just how successful the socialist senator would fare in this race. Media outlets carrying the water for Clinton are already calling New Hampshire "Hillary country," despite the fact that it is in fact Sanders' neighboring home-state and one he's sure to win. After the results are in for New Hampshire, the Democrat primary will become even more interesting, to be sure.
