A woman wearing a headscarf who told cops she was called a terrorist and slashed on her cheek in lower Manhattan on Thursday ultimately admitted she made it all up, reports the NY Daily News.

A 20-year-old student at a Manhattan cosmetology school told police that a knife-wielding attacker called her a terrorist and sliced her face as she left the Make-up Designory on Broadway last week. She said he came up behind her near Wall St. (location pictured above), grabbed her arm, and cut a roughly 2-inch gash into her cheek.

However, police could find no video or witnesses to back up her account. She eventually admitted that the wound was self-inflicted and she had lied about the incident.

The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment and psychological evaluation, but this may be less about a psychiatric problem than it is about the intentional perpetuation of CAIR's self-serving narrative that innocent American Muslims live under the fearsome threat of Islamophobia.
