Leftists love to say "love trumps hate," except when they themselves are seething with hatred.
During Sunday's American Music Awards (AMAs), celebrities did the predictable -- they mocked Melania Trump and cheered on while the band Green Day interrupted their own musical performance to chant: "No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!"
Newsbusters provides a synopsis of the evening, as well as the two video segments featured above:
Model Gigi Hadid and Saturday Night Live alum Jay Pharoah hosted the 2016 American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday night and the hatred for Donald Trump in Hollywood was palpable.
Green Day came back with an even more in-your-face anti-Trump performance. In the middle of playing their song “Bang Bang,” they started a “No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA” chant, just like they do at anti-Trump protests.
Hadid then mocked Melania, depicting her as an airhead (how original), while Pharoah invoked Trump during his introduction of the artist Bruno Mars:
He's also Donald Trump's favorite artist. He was like, listen. I love Bruno Mars. I don't know what color he is, so I can't deport him. I mean, everyone, everyone, everyone, look, look, he looks like Mowgli from "The Jungle Book." I love "Uptown funk." It's about me. It was originally called "Uptown Trump." Listen. I'm gonna funk this country up, bigly.
This being the AMAs, of course there were lewd performances by Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj of their raunchy song “Side to Side,” including Minaj spreading her legs over her head and rubbing her barely covered crotch.
And, file this under LGBTQABCDEFG promotion, John Legend’s song “Love Me Now” included pictures of gay couples in the background. “Social media superstar” and transgender “woman” Gigi Gorgeous said, “Before we get to our next performance, I want to remind everyone that today marks the end of transgender awareness week. Which celebrates people for who they are, and who they were meant to be.
For his part, legend-in-his-own-mind Mark Cuban said he looked forward to "not being invited to the inauguration."
Meanwhile, Broadway performer Idina Menzel gushed over the hypocrite-cast member of Hamilton who singled out Vice President-elect Mike Pence last week. Menzel praised Hamilton cast member Brandon Dixon's disparaging comments to Pence, saying:
"I know how you [Dixon] feel," Menzel said. "For us unsafe, scary theater people won't be invited, either. I love you, 'Hamilton.'"
We wonder if Menzel ever saw Dixon's twitter feed in which he reveals himself to be a complete and utter hypocrite for lecturing others about civility:
Liberal celebrities may be the most obtuse creatures on earth, completely lacking in intellectual consistency and self-awareness.
To say that they are simply "irrelevant" celebrities and ignore their transgressions is not enough. Sadly, celebrities have a pulpit and still have an ability to reach a wide audience. Members of the Left love their boycott campaigns and we think it's time they're subjected to a taste of their own medicine. Members of the Left love to "call out haters"? Well, we think we'll continue to do the same whenever Left-wing celebrities spew hatred and lies.
