Mediaite reports that Bradley Cooper, star of the American Sniper, is behind the development of a miniseries about the rise of ISIS.
Cooper, who starred as the late American hero Chris Kyle in director Clint Eastwood's 2014 blockbuster, was enthralled by Joby Warrick's 2016 Pulitzer Prize-winning book Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS. He grabbed the rights and will collaborate with co-executive producer Todd Phillips and Warrick on a miniseries about how ISIS came to be the world's most threatening terror organization. The story likely will focus on the portion of the book that features a small group of American agents out to eliminate the terrorists.
