Leftist actor Alec Baldwin is in talks with Saturday Night Live’s Lorne Michaels to produce a one-man Broadway show centered on his Emmy-winning impersonation of President Trump. 

On Howard Sterns Sirius XM radio show Monday promoting his new book, You Can’t Spell America Without Me, Baldwin said:

“We may take the book and make it into a one-man show on Broadway. What Lorne did do is give me permission to write this book. My rendering of (Trump) is his intellectual property.”

Michaels is already producing a musical adaptation of Mean Girls with Tina Fey which will premiere in New York City next year.

Though Baldwin admitted that “we’re all sick of the whole Trump as source of comedy thing,” he seems pretty pumped about it continuing. Perhaps he’s hoping for the same success as Will Ferrell, who in 2009, took his George W. Bush impersonation to Broadway and played for three months in You’re Welcome, America. A Final Night with George W. Bush. 

Then again, Baldwin’s Trump schtick could fail as hard as Michael Moore’s one-man anti-Trump show did and fade away into obscurity. But we’re sure he’ll go for it anyway.
