U.S. Olympian Lolo Jones has a message for her followers: Don’t see 50 Shades of Grey.

Despite its box office success in its opening weekend, Jones told her 400k followers in a tweet that it's “Funny how some people think there's nothing wrong with 50 Shades of Grey. God didn't create sex for that purpose. Watch another movie.”

She later clarified her reason to boycott the film in another tweet explaining that people who “medicate pain by being more and more physical” will never find peace when they are alone.

Jones, who is a devout Evangelical Christian and who competes as a hurdler and bobsledder, made headlines in 2012 when she announced to the world in an HBO special that she was a virgin, saving herself for her husband. 

"It's just something, a gift that I want to give to my husband," Jones said. "But please, understand, this journey has been hard.”

She continued, “If there's virgins out there, I'm going to let them know, it's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life — harder than training for the Olympics, harder than graduating from college, has been to stay a virgin before marriage.”
