UPDATE: Ahmad Khan Rahami was captured and is now in custody following a shootout with law enforcement Monday morning:
Our earlier report follows on details about the search for the Afghani terror suspect:
The FBI is on the hunt for a man whom they believe is a suspect in last weekend's New York City bombing. Below is the wanted poster for 29-year-old Afghani suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami, who police say either is, or was, a resident of Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Oh, and by the way, a new bomb threat emerged at an Elizabeth train station early Monday morning:
UPDATE:
Thus far five other people have been taken into custody by the FBI in connection with the spate of attacks that occurred over the weekend -- two bombs in New York, one pipe bomb explosion in Seaside Park, New Jersey, and now the latest incident in Elizabeth.
Of course this, once again, discredits New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and other leaders in the New York Metro area who were very quick to dismiss terrorism as the cause of these incidents. According to Fox News, Rahami is a naturalized U.S. citizen.
Lovely.
Fox reports the details of Rahami's apprehension and shares some very silly words from NY Governor Andrew Cuomo:
The search for Rahami comes hours after federal authorities on Sunday night conducted a traffic stop in Brooklyn of a “vehicle of interest” in the Chelsea bombing. A law enforcement source told Fox News that a “number of individuals” who are possibly connected to the explosion were taken into custody.
"Today I believe we're going to find out [the bombing] was being influenced by foreign sources," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday on Fox & Friends.
You think? Yes, this was a real head-scratcher, Gov. Cuomo. We're so glad the FBI could divert its resources away from neighboring Lancaster's Amish community -- a hotbed of unrest, we're told -- for a few minutes in order to investigate more promising culprits -- five of whom were apprehended after being questioned during a traffic stop.
According to reports, as of Monday morning, the FBI is also raiding a building in Elizabeth, New Jersey, in connection with the five -- yes, five -- explosive devices found there. One of them exploded near the Elizabeth train station.
The explosive that detonated in New York's Chelsea neighborhood injured 29 people and was just one incident in a string of recent attacks including a heinous stabbing spree at a Minnesota shopping mall. The attacker in that incident asked at least one of the victims if they were Muslim and referenced "Allah" during his massacre. The St. Cloud police chief, too, was quick to state he had no idea what the motive for the attack could have possibly been and dismissed terrorism. Well, ISIS took credit for that one.
