Several professors at the University of New Hampshire want two students who showed up to a campus-wide anti-Trump protest wearing a Harambe costume and a Richard Nixon mask expelled. Associate Professor of English Robin Hackett took to Facebook “to call for an investigation leading to the expulsion of these students.”

“These students” showed up to a walk-out protest for anti-Trumpers wearing a mask of the former president and a full-body gorilla costume representing the animal (Harmabe) that was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo earlier this year after a young child fell into its enclosure. A former UNH professor, Courtney Marshall, posted a photo of the masked counter-protesters to Facebook:

After the photo gained traction among faculty, another English professor, and Women’s Studies Program faculty member Siobhan Senier, drafted a letter to the university president and provost which focused on the Harambe costume in particular as “harassing, intimidating, and racist.” Senier added, “Somebody knows who these two students are, who dressed as Nixon and Harambe. And whatever their intent, it seems that a conversation with them is in order… I implore you… to take a strong stand on behalf of our most vulnerable students, faculty and staff.”

Molly Campbell is an English lecturer and her trigger at this event “was a huge truck waving American and trump [sic] flags driving back and forth blaring it’s [sic] horn. Nixon was throwing pacifiers at the crowd.” And according to another English lecturer, Larry Beemer, his “10-year-old son” informed him the costumes were probably a representation of the “Dicks out for Harambe” meme popularized online. 

But what perhaps should warrant an investigation is why the Women’s Studies Program organized the branded anti-Trump protest which, according to Campus Reform, is against state tax rules that bar public funds from being used for political activity.

An investigation should also be initiated to uncover why an English lecturer doesn't know whether to use "its" or "it's."

The women’s program wasn't shy about boasting itself as all-in for Hillary Clinton during the election, except it has deleted all previous Facebook posts that prove it, presumably because it violated said law.
