Both President Obama and Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio are two of the world’s biggest combatants against man-made climate change and at the same time, two of the worst contributors of carbon emissions. Yet, at every opportunity, these elitists lecture the rest of us about how we should sacrifice our lifestyles to save the environment.
Obama and DiCaprio sat down together at a South by Southwest event on Monday to do just that and tell climate change deniers how stupid they are.
“This moment is more important than ever,” DiCaprio said. “We must empower leaders who not only believe in climate change but who are willing to do something about it.”
This from a man who flies on private jets between yacht parties and foreign countries to speak on the horrors of fossil fuels and still gets back in time to join his revolving door of blonde supermodels for a dip in the Mediterranean.
And what about the fleet of armored vehicles, not to mention the personal Boeing aircraft, that carries the president and his entourage all over the world? Obama needs those to tell us we’re “in a race against time” to save the planet for our grandchildren. Climate change deniers, he added, are engaging in “obstructionist politics” and are downright un-American:
“Even as we have members of Congress who scoff at climate change at the same time as they are saluting and wearing flag pins and extolling their patriotism, they’re not paying attention to our joint chiefs of staff and the Pentagon who are saying that this is one of the most significant national security threats that we face over the next 50 years.”
