Trump’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star Vandalized By Sledgehammer

Expect 4 years of angry progressive violence and vandalism if Trump wins.

If Donald Trump is elected President, expect four or more years of angry progressive violence and vandalism, of which this early Wednesday morning destruction of Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a small but significant example.

According to Deadline's Dominic Patten, whose photo of the damaged star is above, the vandalism occurred around 5:45 a.m. on Hollywood Boulevard near the Dolby Theatre. Trump’s star was dedicated in 2007 in recognition of his work fronting and firing on the NBC series. Apprentice EP Mark Burnett, Larry King and then Tonight Show host Jay Leno all spoke at the ceremony for Trump almost a decade ago.

The star was attacked "by a man dressed as a city construction worker and wielding a sledgehammer and pick-ax in what looks to be a Tinseltown first," wrote Patten:

Usually one of the most crowded spots in L.A. during the daytime, there was almost no one around in the pre-dawn hours as the vandal attacked Trump’s star. Moving fast and with apparent planning, the defacer attracted little attention except from a few passers-by. There was no LAPD presence in the usually well-patrolled tourist spot just across from where Jimmy Kimmel Live! is filmed most weekdays.

The man told Deadline his name was Jamie Otis and that he had intended to remove Trump’s star intact to auction it off in New York to raise funds for the women who have accused Trump of sexual assault. That didn't quite work, as the star was smashed into pieces without coming up off the sidewalk.

As Patten points out, Trump’s Walk of Fame star has been the focus of other vandalism since the reality star of The Apprentice announced his White House candidacy last year: a spray-painted swastika in late January, a mute sign painted on it this June, and a tiny wall topped by tiny razor wire was erected around it by an L.A. street artist in July. All were removed. In addition, a petition to remove the star from Hollywood Blvd was attempted, but the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which controls the Walk, refused to do so.
