Trump: Megyn Kelly 'Should Really Be Apologizing To Me'

In talks with Fox about interview Monday night

Trump isn't just refusing to apologize to Fox News' Megyn Kelly for his controversial "blood" comment - he's waiting for an apology from her.

"She should really be apologizing to me, you want to know the truth," said Trump on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Monday. "And other candidates have said that," he added.

"She asked me a question. It was an inappropriate question. It was a ridiculous question," Trump told NBC's Savannah Guthrie in a phone interview earlier Monday. "Even the other candidates came up to me and said that that was absolutely out of line. She asked me a question that was nasty, and I gave her a pretty tough answer."

Trump dismissed his "blood" comment as not having been intended as "much of an insult" and blamed the media for distorting his meaning. "Who would say such a thing?" he asked.

Needless to say, he's not likely to be getting an apology from Kelly, but according to reports a "makeup" of sorts with Fox might be in the works via an exclusive interview Monday. Though it is "highly unlikely" that Kelly will be the interviewer, CNN notes that both sides appear to be taking on a more "conciliatory" tone.

Monday Trump tweeted that Fox News chief Roger Ailes had personally promised him that the network would treat him fairly:
