A recently released national Fox News poll shows Donald Trump in a commanding lead over his opponents.
Currently, Donald Trump has an 18-point lead over Ted Cruz, 45 percent to 27 percent. Though John Kasich has won only one state in a primary race, he holds a close third place slot at 25 percent.
According to Politico, this poll hits a "new record" for Donald Trump from three weeks ago. The same cannot be said for Ted Cruz, who has dropped a total of 11 points from the last poll.
Nationally, the Democratic race is much closer, with Hillary Clinton leading Bernie Sanders by only 2 points,
While Trump has a clear lead over his rivals, the Democratic race is neck-and-neck, 48 percent to 46 percent.
Considering the previous poll had Hillary ahead by 13 points, 55 percent to 42 percent, the poll shows exactly how much steam the Sanders campaign has managed to steal from her momentum.
The New York primary will take place Tuesday, April 19, where Hillary still holds a commanding lead over Sanders, 57 percent to 40 percent. Pundits have largely attributed Clinton's success in New York to her appeal with blacks and other minorities.
The Freedom Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Therefore we do not endorse political candidates either in primary or general elections. However, as defenders of America’s social contract, we insist that the rules laid down by both parties at the outset of campaigns be respected, and that the results be decided by free elections. We will oppose any attempt to rig the system and deny voters of either party their constitutional right to elect candidates of their choice.
