It was a bizarre scene: Donald Trump taking a long and roundabout route to gain access to a back entrance of the Hyatt Regency San Francisco where he was scheduled to speak to the California Republican Convention.

Protestors blocking the roadway, the entrances, and more made it nearly impossible for Trump to gain access to the hotel without walking in via back roads, a culvert and even hopping a fence. According to a CBS report the irony was not lost on the candidate.

“That was not the easiest entrance I’ve ever made,” the frontrunner said. “It felt like I was crossing the border actually. I was crossing the border, but I got here.”
