Senate Dems Want Harder Fight on ISIS

Push Obama to go further

Senate Democrats called for President Barack Obama to push back harder against ISIS during a news conference Monday.

The New York Times reports that the proposal calls for a military and diplomatic push to crush ISIS:

Among their proposals, Democrats would like to see the creation of an “ISIS czar,” the continuation of targeted airstrikes on ISIS strongholds and oil supply lines and new sanctions intended to harm nations that “facilitate financial transactions with ISIS.”

Democrats also tied the battle against ISIS to the resolution of the Syrian civil war that helped the Islamic State rise and to the removal of President Bashar Al-Assad of Syria.

The Democrats, the minority in the Senate, also called for a review of the visa program that allowed San Bernardino terrorist Tashfeen Malik to enter the country.
