It costs a lot of money to erase history but apparently, Democrats are willing to do whatever it takes to expunge America’s “racist” past even if it means kids suffer in the process.

The district in charge of a Virginia high school has calculated a cost of $750,000 to have the name of Confederate Gen. James Ewell Brown (J.E.B.) Stuart, who served under Stonewall Jackson during the Civil War, removed from the school. That included a payment of $100,000 to a facilitator just to lead a committee to look into a name change, reports The Washington Free Beacon.

Once the community learned how much this was going to cost, the plans were postponed. School board member Elizabeth Schultz wasn’t for the name change to begin with and is more concerned about the students:

“We’re already in a strained position. This is where we have, I think, an extra fiduciary responsibility as school board members to be cautious with the money that we spend.”

Others are speaking out, too, outraged that such an amount was even considered when the money could be used to improve the quality of education. Denise Patton is a former teacher at the high school. She said, ”What’s wrong is that the community has spoken, the community is against a name change for many reasons. One is money. J.E.B. Stuart needs money for the kids, not for a name change, and the community has said that. Also, the distortion of history.”
