A woman who owns a roadside fried chicken stand in Baxley, Georgia, was physically assaulted along with her teenage daughter by two customers upset that their food was cold.

Just after 3 p.m. at the Qwik Chick, owner Jeanette Norris served a black couple two meals, according to WTOC. The customers complained that the food was cold and said they didn’t get enough french fries. A “discussion” ensued and Norris refunded their money, but that wasn’t good enough for the angry customers.

"She went berserk," Norris said. "They both lost it. Him and her both started cussing and beating on the window."

Norris went outside to let them know police were on their way. That’s when the female customer started swinging and landing solid punches to the owner’s face. Surveillance footage then shows Norris’s teen daughter exit a truck parked out back to help her mother. The male customer, who is quite large, lands a brutal punch to her face knocking her off her feet and into a wall.

Norris didn’t know her daughter had stepped out of the truck because she had gone back inside.

"One of my employees yelled, 'He's got her, he's got her,'" Norris recalls. "And that's when I realized he had hit her. Who does that? Who punches a child like she's a grown man standing there?"

The suspects left the scene in a silver 2007 Cadillac Escalade, according to WTOC. Police have identified them as Nathaniel Eric Smith and Latasha M. Smith, but have not brought them into custody:

They have active warrants for aggravated battery and cruelty to children. They are considered dangerous and have a tendency towards violence…

Officials say the two have access to two other vehicles described as a silver 2004 Cadillac Deville 4s with Georgia tag number PVK5483, and a green 1996 Cadillac Deville 4s with Georgia tag number BXQ1673. They are described as a heavy-set, medium-height, black male wearing a black T-Shirt, red shorts, and a red cap, and a slender-built, tall, black female wearing an all black shirt, pants, and cap. Officials say they headed north on Highway 144. 

Norris suffered black eyes and a broken nose and her daughter suffered a concussion.

Police chief James Godfrey said, ”The security camera footage that we put out tells it all. That's just pure brutality.” 

"I've been here, what, 41 years - 30 of them as chief. I have never seen anything like this. I've never heard of anything like this,” he added.

It goes without saying that if the races were reversed in this situation, it would be 24/7 coverage on the major networks.
