KPCC reporter Alice Walton has reported via Twitter that Sandra Fluke, the activist made famous for testifying to Congress that insurers should provide women with no-cost contraceptives, is 'strongly considering' a run for retiring Congressman Henry Waxman's seat.

Speaking to KPCC, Fluke said that she is "flattered" by suggestions that she could run.

"I’m flattered that I’m being discussed as a potential candidate," she told KPCC. "A number of folks I respect very deeply have reached out today and encouraged me to run. I am strongly considering running."

Waxman has held his seat for almost forty years.
