Rachel Maddow showed her true MSNBC colors while commentating on the speakers at the Republican National Convention. It seemed as though the guests were just too average-American for her fancy tastes.

First of all, someone needs to revoke Maddow's feminist card because she came down awfully hard on professional golfer Natalie Gulbis, essentially telling the audience she's a nobody because she's ranked 492 in the world among pro golfers. A mildly popular female athlete that far down the chain doesn't deserve a spot on the RNC stage, according to the top feminist at MSNBC.

Legal Insurrection noted: "In doing so, Maddow ignored the fact that Gulbis is a former #6 on the LPGA money list, has won four professional tournaments and at one point placed in the top 10 in four consecutive major championships. If Tiger Woods spoke for Trump, I suppose Maddow would dismiss him as “the 628th golfer in the world” [his current ranking.]"

But Maddow wasn't finished: "It's continuing a, sort of, theme tonight where they're putting on people who are not necessarily well known. We have Adam Wist [actually Andy Wist] from Standard Waterproofing."

"We're also going to have an employee of a Trump winery speaking this evening," Maddow said before disparaging a farmer with, "Tonight there is a person who’s being billed as an avocado farmer."

Maddow was also surprised by the previous cast members from Celebrity Apprentice who were asked to speak at the convention and also on this "landmark moment":

"I should tell you that there’s also, landmark moment in American political history, we are going to have, I think it’s going to be the only national convention in American political history in which we are going to have not one, but two former cast members from 'The Bold and the Beautiful' speaking on two different nights of the convention."

One of those actors she was speaking of was Antonio Sabato, Jr., the "underwear model," she emphasized.

Fellow liberal panelist Eugene Robinson stepped over Maddow in defense of Gulbis, whom he said "was once ranked higher than that" and correcting the fact that "she's fairly well known in golfing circles" having appeared on the covers of golf magazines. One reason for her popularity he gives is that "she's good-looking."

Which reminded Maddow to go sour again and complain that Gulbis had appeared in a swimsuit calendar once, causing "controversy in the LPGA."

Steve Schmidt offered this defense of Gulbis: "Golf’s a cruel sport and 500th in the world makes her a hell of a good golfer. I’ll tell you that ."

We should mention that anchor Brian Williams was physically present at the time and he noted Maddow's "sarcasm."

No, Brian, that's bitterness but thanks for actually showing up... for once.
