Reacting on Thursday to President Trump’s executive order on energy was House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) who turned to religion to voice her dissent during her weekly press conference.
"Shocking — almost sinful — really sinful to be so degrading of God's creation," Pelosi said.
"The administration's attack on science and the Clean Power Plan will not bring back jobs to the coal country. It will only poison our air and undermine America's ability to win good-paying, clean jobs of the future."
As noted by the Washington Free Beacon, Trump’s energy plan seeks to revive the coal industry that was so wounded under President Obama by removing the stifling rules instituted to combat climate change.
But this isn’t the first time Pastor Pelosi has opined from her self-constructed pulpit. On the morning of Inauguration Day, the minority leader said that Democrats are the ones “doing the Lord’s work” on earth:
“When it comes to rural America, the isolation that some people feel, there, plus they don’t think that Democrats are people of faith when the fact is that we are. And I say — this will be a little, not in keeping with the spirit of the day of unity — but I say they pray in church on Sunday and they prey on people the rest of the week. And while we’re doing the Lord’s work, ministering to the needs of God’s creation, they are ignoring those needs which is to dishonor the God who made them.”
She went on to say, “We don’t wear religion on our sleeve, and maybe we should.”
Looks like she is making good on that promise, but we can all see straight through it.
