Obama, Man of the People, Chooses Mansion for Next Home

Barack Obama, the man of the people, has chosen his next home. It is a simple 9 bedroom, 8 1/2 bath mansion in one of America's wealthiest ZIP codes. According to several reports the Obamas will move into the home in the Kalorama suburb of Washington. According the New York Times the home, which the Obamas will rent, is worth quite a bit:

The house — valued around $6 million, according to several real estate websites, with an estimated monthly rent of $22,000 on Zillow — is owned by Joe Lockhart, a former press secretary and senior adviser to Bill Clinton. Mr. Lockhart was until this year the managing director of a communications and political consulting practice he founded, the Glover Park Group, but has moved to Manhattan to become executive vice president for communications for the National Football League.

The home is a reported 8,200 square feet or four to five times the size of the average American home. The Obamas have said they will stay in Washington until their daughter Sasha graduates from high school in 2018.
