On MSNBC's Jansing and Co., host Chris Jansing interviewed Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus to get his opinion on the disastrous launch of Obamacare. Making no attempt at being balanced or fair, Ms Jansing continually interrupted the Chairman with the latest progressive talking points. When Priebus offered that the President was losing on the Obamacare narrative, Jansing brought up the poor showing by Republican's in the last NBC News poll - even though the poll was taken before the "you can keep your insurance" lie became prominent. When Priebus mentioned the that President's numbers were dropping, Jansing replied that they were still higher than the Republican's numbers.
Toward the end of the segment, Jansing used a Politico article, which accused the GOP of sabotaging the Obamacare introduction, to blame Republicans and the Tea Party for it's disastrous launch. Chairman Priebus couldn't help but laugh at her ridiculous suggestion.
Jansing:
Let me just ask you about a headline in Politico this morning, it reads the Obama sabotage campaign. It argues that some of the problems with Healthcare.gov have to do with the roadblocks put in place by Republicans. For example, most Republican governors declined to create their own insurance exchange and in fact 36 exchanges, far more than intended. The Tea Party Patriots website suggested that since Washington was not equipped to handle so many exchanges, quote, “both financially and otherwise this means the entire law could implode on itself.” Is there a little bit of disingenuousness to hammer the Obama administration for problems that they clearly wanted to happen and wanted to contribute to?
Priebus (holding in the laughter):
Well, I don't think the website not being able to sign up six people is a problem with Republicans not liking Obamacare.
Jansing:
Well, it is with 36 states not setting up their own exchanges.
Priebus:
They spent millions, tens of millions of dollars on a website that doesn't work. It has nothing to do with the Tea Party Patriots. It has to do with incompetency at HHS and a President who is totally aloof, doesn't know what's going on and finds out his news at the same time you and I do. That's the problem. Reading speeches written by somebody else, making promises to the American people that they buy into, and then only to find out that all of those promises aren't true. That's not on the Tea Party Patriots, that's on the President of the United States.
