On Sunday's Melissa Harris-Perry, the show's host and namesake led a discussion with a panel of comedians in which panelists offered humorous captions for famous photos from 2013.

When Harris-Perry offers up a photo of Mitt Romney surrounded by his beautiful grandchildren, the party of inclusion and tolerance begins laughing.

Why?

Because one of the grandchildren, Kieran James Romney, is black.

Panelist Pia Glenn quickly begins singing the Sesame Street classic, "One of These Things."

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just isn't the same.

Harris-Perry then offers the backside-covering

And isn't he the most gorgeous...

Then launches into a racially-tinged jab at Mitt Romney.

My goal is that in 2040 the biggest thing of the year will be the wedding between Kieran Romney and North West. Can you imagine Mitt Romney and Kanye West as in-laws?

Because there is no way a racist like Romney -- you know, the kind of racist with a black grandchild -- could possibly accept having even more black relatives.

The final panelist contribution came from Dean Obeidallah of the Daily Beast, who kindly put the racism of the racist Romneys adopting a black grandchild into the greater context of the racism of the racist Republicans reaching out to black voters.

I think this picture is great. It really sums up the diversity of the Republican party. Like the RNC, where they have the whole convention and they find the one black person.

To cap off the irony, Harris-Perry goes to commercial teasing the next segment, "Hey, was that racist?"

Somehow, in a conversation in which an entire panel mocks a white family adopting a black baby, the butt of the joke is still the racism of the white family.
