MMA Fighters Punch Back, Remind Meryl Streep She’s Made Terrible 'Art'

It's a Streep vs. America death match.

The Meryl Streep fallout continues after the actress insulted middle-class America during the Golden Globes awards Sunday night. Her smug, elitist opinion that anything outside of her profession of acting is beneath “art” easily proved that celebrities are completely out of touch with flyover country. The self-congratulatory actress also made it out like Hollywood is the only place on Earth where a diverse body of people from all over the globe have convened to create entertainment.

“So, Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners,” Streep said. “And if we kick them all out [she really believes Trump will do this], you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.”

That line didn’t sit well, particularly with MMA fighters who quickly reacted with reminders that some of Streep’s roles should never be considered art either. Oh, and that pesky little matter that MMA is teeming with foreigners, too.
