Gay conservative Milo Yiannopoulos appeared with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Thursday night for his first television interview since the rioting at UC Berkeley the previous night, which led to the cancellation of his speaking engagement there. The two discussed the bias of the media in its coverage of the rioting -- specifically how the media tended to place the blame on Milo for "provoking" the violence.

As Mediaite reported, Milo recapped for Carlson the events of the night as he experienced, and said that this is “the price you pay” for daring to be a conservative or libertarian on a college campus. He said liberals call everyone they disagree with “Nazis” and that the mainstream media has created the environment in which riots like the one at Berkeley are inevitable.

Carlson and Milo singled out CNN in particular for its tweeted suggestion that, as Carlson put it, Milo deserved the response he got from the demonstrators. "The subtext is that you deserve it,” Carlson said.

The two agreed that the press needs to be held accountable for the way they legitimize the kind of “appalling” language thrown at anyone even slightly conservative.

Carlson pointed out that he and his staff searched in vain for any prominent liberals who came to Milo's defense. Carlson came up with only one - Peter Beinart. Milo responded that for anyone on the left to defend him would be an acknowledgement that there’s a problem on their side.
