MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry has suffered severe criticism after conservative blogger Caleb Howe reported Monday that she and several guests cruelly mocked a photo of former Presidential candidate Mitt Romney holding his adopted black grandchild during a discussion panel on her Sunday program.

Ironically, the segment, which mocked an affluent white family adopting a black baby, aired just ten minutes after a commercial break in which a two minute ad for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) played.

The ad relayed several clips of impoverished children around the world - predominantly black children - while pleading with viewers to make a $15 monthly donation so that they can be provided with decent food, water, and medical care.

The ad declares:

Every five seconds a child living in poverty dies. It's something we all know about, but perhaps have done nothing to stop.

Of course, one family has done something - the Romney family. It's one of these 'forgotten' children that sits on the former governor's knee.

All around the world, it's happening. Every five seconds...

Harris-Perry and company spent sixty seconds mocking Romney...

After learning of this, TruthRevolt contacted UNICEF as to their feelings on having their organization advertised on Melissa Harris-Perry's program, to which they responded with a simple "no comment."

While Harris-Perry has apologized for the episode, MSNBC, as exemplified in the Martin Bashir incident, needs to answer for allowing this vitriol to go on in the first place.

As former Senator Scott Brown pointed out in an op-ed piece on the Fox News website:

Perhaps most alarming about this entire incident is the fact that the offending segment happened on Sunday afternoon and went unnoticed until a blogger flagged it Monday morning.

An entire day lapsed without a word from MSNBC, and it was only after that, when the firestorm grew and the pressure increased, that they felt the need to say anything, suggesting this kind of behavior is acceptable and even encouraged.
