On Hardball, Chris Matthews whining that potential GOP 2016 contenders were trying to cozy up to conservative billionaire Sheldon Adelson, implied the candidates were prostitutes competing for Adelson's funding. Matthews was joined by Politico's Kenneth Vogel, who tried crashing private meetings held by the Republican Jewish Conference in Vegas. Naming Gov. John Kasich (R-OH), Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush as the hapless beggars, Matthews snapped:
Vegas used to be known for a lot of prostitution out there and I was thinking it seems prostitution seems to have made a comeback this week with all this 'choose me' action.
Vogel chuckled and agreed, then tacitly referred to the money Adelson gave to Newt Gingrich's primary campaign in 2012 by stating that the billionaire was able to keep moribund campaigns alive. Matthews, Vogel and josh green the asserted that candidates no longer go to the fire departments and rec rooms of Iowa but to conferences to find their "sugar daddies."
