Jon Stewart has a message for Republicans: You don't own this country.
Stewart came unglued after his visit to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and launched into the following rant before a studio audience:
"Do you feel that you are this country's rightful owners? There's only one problem with that. This country isn't yours. You don't own it. It never was. There is no real America!"
Then he informed the GOP that they don't get exclusive rights to a particular religion, patriotism or respect for men and women in uniform:
"You don't own patriotism. You don't own Christianity. You sure as hell don't own respect for the bravery and sacrifice for the military, police and firefighters."
Then Stewart, who has lobbied for specialized health care for 9/11 responders, called BS on Republicans for its Blue Lives Matter "rhetoric:"
"Trust me! I saw a lot of people on the convention floor in Cleveland with their Blue Lives Matter rhetoric, who either remained silent, or actively fought against the 9/11 first responder's bill authorization. I see you and I see your bulls***! I see it!"
