Jon Stewart: Reagan Would've Handled Ukraine Worse than Obama

Besides, American voters don’t care about foreign policy anyway.

Tuesday, Jon Stewart ripped the Fox News’ 2014 election angle on the events in Ukraine, mocking the idea that Americans care about foreign policy, and eventually turned his monologue to a critique of Reagan’s foreign policy decisions, suggesting that he would have handled the situation worse than Obama.

Stewart began the segment by providing a quick summary of the events in Ukraine and blasting Fox for contextualizing the events in light of the upcoming election.

Stewart then turned his sights on conservatives resurrecting Ronald Reagan's "ghost," using it as an opportunity to tear into Reagan's foreign policy achievements. After mocking Oliver North for his comments on the situation, highlighting his involvement in the Iran-Contra scandal, Stewart then ripped into Reagan’s handling of Afghanistan, suggesting that Reagan would have dealt with Ukraine less effectively than Obama.
