Following Donald Trump's victory over the candidate who wanted to "abolish the 2nd Amendment," relieved Americans have ceased on their gun stockpiling in hopes the new President-elect won't infringe on their constitutional rights. 

"Gun shop owners are seeing a steep drop-off in sales since Election Day," reports The New York Post.

Prior to the election, gun sales spiked heavily in October as Hillary surged over Trump in the polls. A sharp decline occurred over the eight trading days following November 8th. Smith & Wesson shares picked up as of Monday, with a 2.2 percent increase.  

Trump repeatedly made the 2nd Amendment a central issue, primarily in his promise for SCOTUS appointments, and accused "Crooked Hillary" several times of wanting to abolish people's constitutional rights. 

"The Second Amendment is under a threat like never before," Trump said after being endorsed by NRA. "Crooked Hillary Clinton is the most anti-gun ... candidate ever to run for office. And, as I said before, she wants to abolish the Second Amendment. She wants to take your guns away. She wants to abolish it.”

"We're getting rid of gun-free zones, I can tell you," he added.
