EU: 'Israel Has Much to Learn From Us in War on Terror'

Yes, because Europe is doing such a great job countering jihad.

In what can only be described as an extreme case of self-delusion and arrogance, The European Union wants to teach the Israelis how to combat terrorism. The unsolicited advice came from the EU’s outgoing Ambassador to Israel, Lars Faaborg-Andersen. “Israel has much to learn from us in war on terror,” Faaborg-Andersen told the reporters at a press conference in Tel Aviv.

In the past, the EU has repeatedly condemned Israel’s “excessive” use of force against armed Islamic terrorists who are hell-bent on killing Israeli civilians. The senior EU diplomat told the Israelis to learn from the EU’s "holistic approach" to fight terrorism and adapt “de-radicalization” programs for Radical Muslims--similar to the ones running in Europe. Ambassador Faaborg-Andersen, who is incidentally a Danish national, might have been referring to Denmark’s 'Hug a Jihadi' Program that gives free homes and jobs to Islamists in hopes of preventing them from committing acts of terror inside the country.

The ill-advised remarks came just days after Europe has been rocked by a series of Islamist terror attacks carried out by migrants. Last Thursday’s jihadi attack in Barcelona that killed 15 and injured at least 130 people was followed by a stabbing attack in Finland that killed 2 women and wounded 8 others. All the assailants in these attacks where Muslim men of North African origin.

The popular Israeli news website Ynetnews reported:

At the conclusion of his four-year mission to Israel Tuesday, Ambassador Lars Faaborg-Andersen—the outgoing European Union delegate to Israel—believes Israel has "much to learn" from the European Union when it comes to fighting terror.

Speaking in a press conference held at the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv, Faaborg-Andersen made it clear that while the European Union does indeed have a lot to learn from Israel in the war on terror, Israel would also do well to take a leaf out of Europe's how-to guide when it comes to fighting Islamic militants. […]

Moreover, he said that while Israel had performed with notable success when it came to operational counter-terror measures, it was also necessary to employ other tools at its disposal, such as education and de-radicalization methods.

"There's a significant security aspect to it, which you undoubtedly address," he said, "but there are also other aspects to work with including welfare and educational services and the like," he opined. "Europe has adopted a more holistic approach to the war on terror—and Israel can definitely learn from European experience."

When asked whether he considered this "holistic approach" to be a success, Faaborg-Andersen admitted shortcomings, but praised the overall approach.

"If there's still terrorism it obviously hasn't been a complete success, because a one-hundred-percent hermetically sealed security against attacks is tough to achieve. But you can definitely reduce the number of attacks. I think our approach is successful, but not entirely so. It's certainly better than not doing anything," he said.

When asked about Europe’s preparedness in deal with the growing threat of Islamic terrorism, the EU envoy was very upbeat. “It’s also a lot better compared to the situation of just a few years ago," he added. “Generally speaking, European terror handling preparedness today is leaps and bounds better than what it was.”

The EU top brass has now officially gone off the rails. The sad part, however, is that they run around celebrating their liberal lunacy as a sign of moral superiority. “Whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad,” wrote the ancient Greek playwright Euripides. Today’s Europe’s elite have come to personify that ancient adage.
