Earlier today MSNBC denied comment to the Daily Beast’s inquiry into the Truth Revolt-led boycott of Al Sharpton sponsor Ritz Crackers.
In an article published this morning, the Daily Beast’s David Freedlander addressed the Ritz boycott led by Truth Revolt. In it Freedlander describes Truth Revolt as
A group of conservative activists, tired of what they see as a persistent and little remarked liberal bias in the news media [...] set to begin a series of boycotts aimed at advertisers who sponsor what they see as left-wing networks, outlets, and journalists.
The first boycott Truth Revolt is heading up: Ritz Crackers, owned by Chicago’s Mendolez International, which is currently a sponsor of Al Sharpton’s political commentary show, PoliticsNation (MSNBC).
Freedlander highlights the reason for “targeting” Ritz offered by Truth Revolt’s Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro:
Shapiro said Truth Revolt chose Mondelez because it bills itself as a “family-friendly company” and because it was one of the few advertisers to respond to the group’s inquiries about why it supports the Sharpton show.
So far, no comment from MSNBC.
