Dan Rather: Trump 'Psychologically Troubled'

"What you have here is a President who is lashing out in anger."

Thursday night, once-famed CBS anchor Dan Rather appeared on MSNBC's The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, and described President Donald Trump as the most "psychologically troubled" president since Richard Nixon.

In the wake of Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Debacle -- I mean, Agreement -- the mainstream media lost its collective mind, accusing Trump of everything from treason to condemning the entire planet to death.

Pontificating on this, and on French President Macron pretending to fill a leadership void regarding the battle against weather -- I mean, climate change -- Rather described Trump's bold decision as “a momentous moment, and a very ominous moment.”

The former newsman then expounded on something he knows nothing about: a psychological assessment of the President.

“It seems clear that he’s mad," Rather began. "He has some rage. He’s scared… He just came back from this European trip, and he was angry with the leader of Germany, Ms. Merkel, and the new leader of France. So what you have here is a president who is lashing out in anger. We haven’t had a president this psychologically troubled – I’m trying to use my language real carefully. We haven’t had a president this psychologically troubled in this way since at least Richard Nixon -- and remember, we're still very early in the Trump presidency.”

There is more, as Rather goes on to talk about the consequences for Trump and the country of his Paris pullout. But Rather's comments about Trump's mental and emotional fragility are key, because the left is trying very hard to find some legitimate means to bring down the President -- hence all the feverish media speculation about Trump's unstable mental state and rumored physical decline.

The interview with Rather begins at the 2:37 mark in the video above.
