CNN couldn’t resist scooping up the reporter who paraded herself around last week as a victim of the media attack by the Trump administration.
Coincidentally, American Urban Radio Networks correspondent April Ryan was interviewed by Chris Cuomo on CNN’s New Day where she said on behalf of the press:
“The administration is calling us the ‘enemy of the people,’ I guess we saw some of that thought process yesterday… There was a young lady from Politico over the weekend — a white woman — who was called an ‘idiot’ be Sean [Spicer]. It made headlines.
“We are — the press is — under attack. We are under attack by this administration. It's about discrediting credible media. At this point, I happen to be a black woman, but I’m part of the press.”
Now, she’s a CNN political analyst, according to The Washington Free Beacon.
Ryan clashed with Spicer last week during a press conference bringing accusations that Spicer was racist and sexist because he told her to stop shaking her head at his answers. Laughingly, Ryan told Cuomo during her appearance, “It’s getting personal… I have no agenda.” Did we mention she’s working for CNN now?
The Beacon adds:
Ryan subsequently said that Spicer has a problem with female reporters.
Back in February, Ryan accused President Trump of making a racially-charged comment that he never said.
"When he was Candidate Trump, he said things like, you know, ‘We made this country,' meaning white America, not necessarily black," Ryan said during a White House press briefing.
"I don't know why you would say that. What do you mean?" Spicer asked.
"No, no, no. He said that. I heard him say that," Ryan said.
Ryan could not provide evidence that Trump made the statement when asked to do so.
In addition to Ryan, CNN has also recently hired a couple of former employees of the Obama administration, including former homeland security advisor Lisa Monaco, who now is CNN’s senior national security analyst. Also, the network’s new military and diplomatic analyst is John Kirby, former State Department and Pentagon spokesman.
But remember, CNN has no agenda and is in the straight news business.
