Charles Cooke Schools Entire Morning Joe Panel On Gun Control

What happens when rhetoric is met with facts? Magic. Magic happens.

National Review's Charles C.W. Cooke Crushes Liberals on Gun C...

From Morning Joe today: Charles C. W. Cooke puts gun control liberals to shame with his expert commentary.

On Friday morning, National Review's Charles Cooke was a guest on MSNBC's Morning Joe to discuss the Umpqua Community College murders and the issue of gun control. The panel was fired up advocating "more" gun control, as most liberals in the media are, especially after President Obama instructed them to be. Unfortunately for the panel, Charles Cooke was fired up with facts and reason.

Every minute of the above video is worth watching, as Cooke calmly responds to the baiting and sneering, particularly the typically dim Mika Brzezinski. Cooke deals with each objection in turn with unassailable logic that exposes the hollow words of those around him.

The highlight, though, was his interaction with Time's Mark Halperin, who clearly thought he was about to have a "moment" and just ended up looking like he had no idea what he was talking about. Which is, conveniently, exactly the case.

The "we have to do something" impulse of the left has been in overdrive for months and has only been sharpened in the last few days. As with every leftist impulse, their natural inclination for an outlet is to wield the power of government to clamp down on someone, anyone, anywhere, to feel like they are doing something. As Cooke rightly points out, their burning desire for more fascistic (our word) control doesn't "even intersect with this shooting."

Their gut reaction is to do something that wouldn't have done anything. It's no wonder liberals love government. Their impulses are in perfect synch.
