Breitbart executive Stephen K. Bannon is now the CEO of the Donald Trump campaign. The Wall Street Journal broke the news in the early afternoon on Wednesday.

Donald Trump added an anti-establishment conservative with an extensive background attacking Hillary Clinton to his presidential campaign team team Wednesday by naming Stephen Bannon as the operation’s chief executive.  

Bannon is a former investment banker with Goldman Sachs, a former naval officer,and documentary filmmaker. As one of the top people behind the conservative news site Breitbart over the last several years, Bannon has helped foster a take-no-prisoners attitude.

Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski characterized Mr. Bannon’s attitude as “win at all costs.” “I think that makes some people on the left very afraid because they’re willing to say and do things that others in the mainstream media wouldn’t do,” Mr. Lewandowski said on CNN Wednesday.  

The news has been confirmed by the campaign now and the New York Times reports that Kellyanne Conway will become campaign manager, Paul Manafort will remain campaign chairman and Rick Gates will receive a new title. Conway, however, told the times this is not a case of the new blood pushing out the old.

“It’s an expansion at a busy time in the final stretch of the campaign,” she said.

“We met as the ‘core four’ today,” Ms. Conway added, referring to herself, Mr. Bannon, Mr. Manafort and Mr. Gates.  

Bannon's Breitbart has been highly supportive of Trump for more than a year now, often pushing the candidate during the primaries when he had few backers in the media.
