A U.S. District Court judge has released from jail the now famous Rowan County, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, who was taken into custody for contempt last week for refusing to issue marriage licenses.

Judge Bunning, who previously incarcerated Davis, further ordered that she not "interfere" with other clerks in the office, who are now issuing licenses. 

Bunning stated on Tuesday that he is "satisfied that the clerk's office is fulfilling its obligation to issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples." The failure of the office to issue the licenses was the basis for the contempt charge on which Davis was being held.

Gov. Mike Huckabee and Senator Ted Cruz are both scheduled to speak at rally for Kim Davis at the jail today, partly to demand her release. There is no word on how the demonstration will change based on the release.
