Beck Blasts Trump as Progressive Republican

Says Trump sets sights on wrong target

Donald Trump's attack on Nabisco and Oreos for moving to Mexico sent radio host and media entrepreneur Glenn Beck over the edge on Tuesday.

At a campaign stop in Alabama over the weekend, Trump said that he won't be eating Oreos any time soon because the parent company, Nabisco, is moving a plant to Mexico.

"When I heard this clip over the weekend I thought to myself, now wait a minute, 'Why is Nabisco moving?'" Beck said on his radio program.

Nabisco wasn't Trump's only target; he also slammed Ford for opening a car plant in Mexico:

"My favorite story is Ford, you've heard the story of Ford? Trump asked. They are building a $2.1 billion car factory in Mexico," Trump told the crowd.

Beck said Trump has it all wrong and instead of attacking the companies he should be attacking the high taxes that push them out:

"Why is Ford moving to Mexico? Because they love Mexicans? Because they love Mexico so much? Or because they cannot afford to do business here in the United States?" Beck asked.

Beck said a constitutional conservative like Ronald Regan would have recognized that the real problem is tax rates:

"What does Donald Trump do? He becomes a populist and makes people boo Nabisco, boo Oreos," Beck said. "At that rate, you’re gonna lose every single company in America that counts because we have the highest corporate tax rates. Stop demonizing the companies and start fixing the problem to make us competitive again!"

Beck took a preemptive strike at those who suggest his shot at Trump is an attempt to back an "establishment" candidate, calling that idea a joke. Beck has called for a defunding of the GOP until they act on issues that matter to the base.
