Aziz Ansari Is A Feminist Too

"You're a feminist if..."

The tidal wave of "male feminists" continued wreaking havoc Monday night when comedian Aziz Ansari revealed on David Letterman that he considers himself a "feminist" as well, citing textbook definitions, clichèd slogans, and, most importantly, his current girlfriend's "influence" over him as catalysts for his conversion.

The conversation started when Letterman asked Ansari whether or not his current relationship inspires some of his comedy. Without hesitation, Ansari immediately began preaching the gospel.

"My girlfriend has influence on me," Ansari said. "She's a big feminist, and uh, you know that made me think about those kinds of issues. I'm a feminist as well!"

Ansari then asked the audience to "clap" if they identify themselves as feminists, but the room did not suddenly erupt in thunderous as he had hoped. To those who didn't clap, Ansari had words for them.

"There's a lot of people that didn't clap," he continued. "I don't believe you, because if you look up feminist in the dictionary it just means that someone who believes that men and women have equal rights and I think that everyone here believes that men and women have equal rights."

On that note, the audience clapped to Ansari's approval as he then went into yet another lecture from Feminism-101 about what makes true feminism without addressing abortion, free contraception, free tampons, promiscuous sex, and a variety of other issues under the so-called banner of "feminism."

"If someone asks if you're a feminist, you have to say yes," he added. "You're a feminist if you go to a Jay Z and Beyoncé concert, and you're not like, 'mmm, I feel like Beyoncé should get 23% less than Jay Z. Also, I don't think Beyonce should have the right to vote, and why is Beyonce singing and dancing, shouldn't she make Jay a steak?" The audience then finally erupted into the cheers he had been hoping for.

His girlfriend trained him well.
