During a recent stand-up concert in Tampa, Florida, feminist comedienne Amy Schumer was met with a fair amount of booing from ticket purchasers once she turned her show into a political rant against Republican candidate Donald Trump.

According to Mediaite, about 200 folks walked out during the show, and many more booed the performer. To those that booed, Schumer sicced her security on them and had them escorted off the premises.  

It all began the moment Schumer invited a pro-Trump audience member on stage to make a case for his support of the Republican for president. She promised the volunteer that she wasn’t going to shame him… before she shamed him. She quickly turned on him and mocked his answers with “comedy” before cutting the interview short and sending him off stage, saying, “He doesn’t seem like a psychopath.” 

Schumer slammed Trump as an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.” The audience’s reaction was mixed.

“Of course, we’re in Florida, you’re going to boo,” Schumer shot back.

Then, Schumer said the previous week had been very “triggering” for her as a sexual assault survivor, presumably because of Trump’s leaked audio and the subsequent allegations of assault. She brought up the house lights and asked other female victims in the audience to stand. 

The comedienne went on to say that she would have a hard time telling her 2-year-old niece about President Trump: “This is our president. He wants to finger his daughter.”

Schumer transitioned to showering Hillary Clinton with praise but sensed not everyone was “with her.”

“I know, you’re here to laugh,” Schumer said. “But you know what? You choose your life; you choose the way you want to live your life. It’s just too important. So, we’re going to spend five minutes talking about it. You can go to the bathroom, or you can leave. Whatever you want.” Except for boo, because that’ll get you kicked out.

Mediaite quoted a couple of audience members that took her suggestion to leave:

“The show became political. I definitely didn’t come to hear this.”

“I don’t want to hear that. We wanted to have a good night without distractions with the politics.”

It’s interesting that any Republicans in her audience would’ve gone to the show and expected anything less. Schumer is extremely vocal about her liberal philosophies and has made a career out of insulting the Right. Though she has become a poster girl for sexual assault victims among feminists, Schumer regularly uses sex to sell her brand of comedy, even calling her show Inside Amy Schumer.
