A police officer was ambushed in an anti-cop attack this week in Sacramento, California. Two men have been arrested and charged.

It was early Monday morning when the unnamed officer was approached while sitting in his patrol car. Juan Gomez, 21, lured the officer out of his vehicle by claiming a gunman was in the area. Gomez sucker-punched the officer to the ground, straddled him, and continuing delivering blows to his face. Investigators say Gomez made several attempts for the officer's gun.

Gomez's partner in crime, 35-year-old Jamaral Lee, "bravely" stood by and filmed the attack, encouraging the brutality.

Thankfully, several security officers were nearby and were able to subdue Gomez and help the injured officer, later treated for facial injuries.

Gomez has been charged with assaulting an officer and resisting arrest. Lee also for assault, as well as advocating injury to an officer of the law.
